3 July 2025

Empowering Educators Through Pencak Silat

In collaboration with Vestas & RBPN, ASA Foundation successfully implemented a Social Intervention Program in Garut, West Java, Indonesia, bringing together 21 dedicated local teachers to explore the transformative power of Pencak Silat-based education. The "Empowerment through Pencak Silat: Integrating Health, Life Skills, and Gender Equality Education" program was designed to harness the rich tradition of Pencak Silat as a tool for empowering communities through health education, life skills training, and the promotion of gender equality.

Aligned with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including Good Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Quality Education (SDG 4), and Gender Equality (SDG 5), the program reached 695 students, with 100% trainer engagement, 90% improvement in knowledge scores, and widespread enhancement in life skills, problem-solving abilities, and gender equality awareness. Through structured workshops, practical training, and continuous engagement, the program empowered participants to become change agents in their local contexts, driving both personal and collective growth.

This program is more than martial arts. It’s about strengthening character, knowledge sharing, and empowering youth through sport and cultural heritage.
