South Jakarta, December 13, 2024 – In celebration of International Disabilities Day, UNIQLO Indonesia in partnership with ASA Foundation, proudly conducted the Circular Economy Learning through Play for Disabilities program at SLBN 12, South Jakarta. This event empowered 83 children with diverse disabilities, supported by 15 dedicated teachers and 16 inspiring UNIQLO staff volunteers, including individuals with disabilities.
The program featured an array of engaging and inclusive activities, including musical aerobics, creative workshops to craft sports equipment from recycled materials, and inspiring testimonies from UNIQLO staff volunteers. The hands-on sessions equipped participants with problem-solving skills and nurtured teamwork, creativity, and environmental awareness.
“Participating in this program for the very first time was incredibly rewarding, and we were very happy to meet all the students at SLBN 12. All the students at SLBN 12 have a very good ability to communicate and work together during the workshop." shared one of the UNIQLO Volunteer.
“The hands-on activities have been transformative,” shared a teacher from SLBN 12. “We’re excited to continue using these approaches in our daily teaching.”
The event concluded with awards recognizing the outstanding creativity of students and a commitment from SLBN 12 educators to sustain and expand these inclusive practices.
