Supported by the FIFA Foundation, ASA Foundation launched a 12 month Football-based Peace Building, Life Skills & Gender Equality program for vulnerable junior and senior high school teachers and students across Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia.
Hosted at the Jawa Power training development complex in Paiton, Probolinggo and supported by Coca Cola Amatil for sports drinks, the Training of Trainer (ToT) Master Training programming activities, which were officially opened by the Ministry of Education (DINAS Pendidikan), empowered 30 male and female school teachers to become Football-based Peace Building, Life Skills & Gender Equality educators. The teacher trainers were then responsible for educating and empowering their respective male and female school students with the FIFA Foundation program geared towards long-term sustainability. The FIFA Foundation student training development activities in junior and senior high schools, which were monitored and evaluated by ASA Foundation on a weekly basis, reached out to over 9,900 students with 49% female participants.
Furthermore, the project involved teachers and students developing training equipment, such as cones, markers and ladders, from plastic waste, therefore, introducing sustainable Circular Economy activities into schools and surrounding communities.
Many thanks to Jawa Power and Coca Cola Amatil for all their help and support for the programming activities. And a massive thank you to FIFA Foundation for making this inspirational program possible for the people of Probolinggo!
